This is the official release page. On Windows and macOS the app installs straight from your browser; Linux has a .deb package served from vne.email — no intermediary site, no bundled extras.

What the app does on your machine

VNe Workspace is the desktop window onto app.vne.email — the same screens you use in the browser, gathered into one window:

Always the latest version, nothing to update by hand

The Linux package alone ships a helper called "VNe Office" that opens Word, Excel and PowerPoint files locally instead of uploading them. Apart from the app and that helper, the package installs nothing else.

Install on a computer

On Windows, macOS and Linux the app installs from the browser itself — there is no installer file to download, and so no operating-system warning to click past.

Open app.vne.email
Sign in, then open the account menu in the top right.
Choose "Install app on this device". The app shows up in the Start menu (Windows), Launchpad (macOS) or your app list (Linux), opens in its own window and receives new-mail notifications.

Requires Chrome, Edge, Cốc Cốc or Brave. Desktop Firefox and Safari have no install option — there, vne.email still runs in full inside a browser tab.

Linux users who want a real system app, with a tray icon and updates through apt, can take the .deb package above.

Why there is no .exe or .dmg any more

As of 2026-09-06 we no longer publish the Windows (.exe) or macOS (.dmg) builds. Neither was code-signed, so every Windows install raised a SmartScreen warning and every macOS install a Gatekeeper one; meanwhile our access logs show that nearly everyone on a computer uses the browser, and the machines that did install were receiving no updates at all. Installing from the browser removes both problems: there is no unfamiliar file for the operating system to distrust, and the newest version arrives the moment you open the app.

Check the file you downloaded

The Linux package is the only file to download. Compare the checksum below with the file on your machine — one character off means it is not the build we published, so don't install it.

Uninstall

Windows, macOS, Linux (installed from the browser): open the app, click the ⋮ menu at the top right of its window and choose "Uninstall". Alternatively: Chrome/Edge → chrome://apps or edge://apps → right-click vne.email → Remove.
Linux (.deb package): run sudo apt remove vne-email-desktop.
iPhone/iPad: press and hold the app icon, then choose Delete App.

Mobile

iPhone and iPad install from the App Store, Android from Google Play. There is no APK published outside the stores.
