Install on a computer

macOS: download the signed .dmg above, open it and drag VNe into Applications. Windows and Linux (without the .deb): install from the browser with the steps below.

1Open app.vne.email
2Sign in, then open the account menu in the top right.
3Choose "Install app on this device". The app shows up in the Start menu (Windows) or your app list (Linux), opens in its own window and receives new-mail notifications.

Browser install needs Chrome, Edge, Cốc Cốc or Brave. Desktop Firefox and Safari have no install option — there, vne.email still runs in full inside a browser tab. The macOS .dmg does not depend on the browser.

Linux users who want a real system app, with a tray icon and updates through apt, can take the .deb package above.

What the app does on your machine

VNe Workspace is the desktop window onto app.vne.email — the same screens you use in the browser, gathered into one window:

The Linux package alone ships a helper called "VNe Office" that opens Word, Excel and PowerPoint files locally instead of uploading them. Apart from the app and that helper, the package installs nothing else.

Why there is no Windows .exe

We do not publish a Windows (.exe) installer. The old build was not Authenticode-signed, so every install raised SmartScreen; meanwhile nearly every Windows visitor uses the browser. Installing from the browser removes the OS warning and always receives the newest version. macOS is different: as of 2026-09-20 we again publish a .dmg that is code-signed and notarized with Apple.

Uninstall

macOS (.dmg): drag VNe Workspace from Applications to the Trash, then empty the Trash.
Windows, Linux (installed from the browser): open the app, click the ⋮ menu at the top right of its window and choose "Uninstall". Alternatively: Chrome/Edge → chrome://apps or edge://apps → right-click vne.email → Remove.
Linux (.deb package): run sudo apt remove vne-email-desktop.
Android: Settings → Apps → vne.email → Uninstall (or long-press the home-screen icon and choose Uninstall).
iPhone/iPad: press and hold the app icon, then choose Delete App.

Mobile

iPhone and iPad install from the App Store, Android from Google Play. There is no APK published outside the stores.
